The President and First Lady, Together with Foreign Leaders, Honored the Memory of Fallen Warriors

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska paid tribute to the fallen defenders of Ukraine at the National Memorial of Remembrance in Kyiv.


The ceremony was attended by foreign leaders who arrived in Ukraine on the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Among them were President of Finland Alexander Stubb, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, President of the European Council António Costa, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal, Prime Minister of Iceland Kristrún Frostadóttir, Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson, OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu, and France’s Minister for Europe Benjamin Haddad.


Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, along with Members of the European Parliament, as well as Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and members of the European Commission, also paid their respects to the fallen heroes.

The attendees honored the memory of Ukrainians who gave their lives for their homeland with a moment of silence.
