Olena Zelenska Summarized Results of Joint Work with Diplomatic Missions at Annual Meeting of Ambassadors

First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska took part in the meeting of ambassadors, “Restoring Peace and Ukraine’s Leadership.”

“I meet many of you not only here, but also throughout the year during my visits abroad. With many of you, we have already built lasting partnerships over many years, for which I am deeply grateful. I want you to see how much important work we have already accomplished together,” the President’s wife said.

The First Lady noted that, through cooperation with the embassies, the Olena Zelenska Foundation had delivered about 150 generators to schools and kindergartens, as well as social and medical institutions. In particular, Czechia provided 35 generators and Sweden another 60.

“We were able to provide heat to 94 schools and 22 preschools, 13 medical institutions, and family-type children’s homes. This assistance reached tens of thousands of children,” Olena Zelenska added.

The President’s wife said that cooperation with the embassies is continuing under the Safe School and Room for Childhood projects.

“We continue to equip shelters for schools and kindergartens. As long as Russia continues its terror, it is essential for us to restore children’s opportunity to study safely. We are also continuing to build homes for large foster families. We want them not only to have a roof over their heads, but also for more children to find a family and a home. For us, this is recovery in its most humane sense: not the restoration of infrastructure, but the restoration of childhood,” the First Lady said.

Olena Zelenska also recognized the diplomats’ efforts to develop the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies. Over two years, 101 universities in 27 countries have joined it.

“One of the most remarkable examples of this work is the Ukrainian Weeks that the coalition has already held in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and Poland. Here, I want to thank you in particular: without the organizational support of our embassies on the ground, including the Embassy of Ukraine in Spain, which hosted the week’s concluding roundtable, none of these weeks would have taken place. Your painstaking work stands behind every memorandum signed,” the President’s wife noted.

Ukrainian diplomats also help expand the availability of Ukrainian-language audio guides at major landmarks around the world and contribute to the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, which will be held in Kyiv for the sixth time this month.

“Over five years, with your support, the Summit has grown from an annual meeting into a true global platform. Without exaggeration, we shape the agenda, raise issues of global importance, and immediately take action in response. Over these years, every First Lady and First Gentleman has gained a unique community of their own and become more effective, more impactful, and more valuable to their countries, in particular, thanks to you,” Olena Zelenska concluded.

The First Lady also thanked the spouses of Ukrainian diplomats, noting that they always contribute to diplomatic work and that their role must not be underestimated.
